About Past Life Regression
Past Life Regression is a technique which will take an individual back through time to their previous lives by accessing normally hidden memories in the subconscious mind.
It needs a trained therapist to lead you and employs the use of hypnosis along with visualisation procedures similar to those used in some forms of meditation and relaxation.
So what will you encounter in these past lives?
Some people discover lives that they have shared with people that they have a close bond with in their present life.
Others are drawn to certain places or countries that they immediately feel comfortable and familiar with.
Sometimes it’s all about seeing if there is such a thing as past life.
There have been many possible explanations put forward a to what past life experiences may be, and you are free to choose whichever theory feels comfortable with your beliefs.
The belief that we return to this world many times in order to experience and evolve.
A theory suggesting that our memories are passed on from one generation to another through the cell structure or DNA. This can’t explain why most people regress back to many difference cultural backgrounds.
When I was training as a Clinical Hypnotherapist PLR was one of the many elements studied. Part of the study was to experience PLR … and here’s one of my first Past Life Regression experiences:
I regressed back to 1857 and was aware through thought and visualisation myself as a young man in a uniform and specifically a certain looking cap – I recognised myself and it was quite an experience to see myself as a male, in uniform. I learnt I was in the south of the US. I fast forwarded to after this time and where I lived out the rest of that life. The uniform and date indicates the American Civil War, the uniform was Confederate, the cap (as searched on via Google) was the exact same as I’d visulised in my session).
This was a short introductory session, so the amount of information was limited but it felt comfortable and similar to watching a film. I didn’t have much previous information or knowledge about the confederate uniform or the American Civil War, but interestingly those facts were borne out with the research I did afterwards.
Starting off with the first Past Life Regression session, it’s very usual for someone to experience a lighter experience, then moving on to being more comfortable with the experience and more involved experiences and finding more answers/solutions.
Additional experience – more about Tim, the Confederate Soldier
When I trained as a PLR Therapist, again as part of the course I had to experience PLR, so I decided to explore more about the American Civil War experience. Between qualifying as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mind Coach and gaining the Diploma as a Past Life Regression Therapist, I’d used PLR on various other occasions.
However, this time I wanted more information about me as Tim, as the adventurous young man who went walkabouts and ended up deserting the army, particularly why … so I simply requested my subconscious mind to tell me more about that experience… and this is what I found out:
I’d left my family as a young man because I wanted adventure and didn’t want to stay on the farm. I found out that I was known as Tim. I experienced the feelings of not being impressed with the idea of spending all of my time (probably all of my life as far as I could envisage) doing the same thing over and over again (aka boredom!) and coupled was a very strong desire to see what was around the corner, down the road, over the horizon … I knew I wanted to experience more than was on offer on the farm. This desire to avoid boredom and the attraction of what was new and different was a very strong motivation to me as a young man. the farm life just wasn’t for me.
In order to fulfill and stratch my adventurous itch, I joined the US Army. This was just the easiest route for me, a young man with very little money, from a poor family background. The resulting issues was the idea of being paid to kill, which I didn’t like and didn’t agree with. So my wanderlust ways and strong beliefs meant that I wouldn’t and couldn’t do this, so I left the army illegally (deserted on the principles of not being willing to kill someone). In one very clear visualisation I experienced being hunted and my army deserter hunters were very near, near enough for me to hear them shout that they woudn’t get me but the swamp sure would (as spoken and heard as very strong southern accents). They didn’t find me (and I felt they weren’t about to go wading around in snake infested swamp) where I was hiding out, holding my breathe, hoping that they would give up.
After this, I fast forwarded to being older and finding out that I lived out the rest of my life in the southern part of the US and being content at the end of my life.
This is very usual, in as much as finding out something relatively simple and clear, not particularly connected to any issue or problem – literally information.
In another experience of PLR I found myself in a desert, as a man, a trader who went from place to place, selling silver objects. Very much nomadic and enjoying being in the desert and being able to trade and have customers in a variety of markets. I found out that my name was Hussan.
So what do I make of my experiences?
Sometimes only a certain amount of information is accessed, as seemingly only a certain amount of information is needed in order to answer a question. In my own experience this comes as data information, for example what year is it <response>. If I ask more about this time/reason/scenario then more information is made available.
I’ve used the experiences to confirm something about myself now, for example silver has appeared in more experiences (I love silver).
I have found that I love being the desert, having travelled to the Four Corners (Arizona, New mexico, Colorado and Utah) in the US, the Bolivian salt lakes, the Atacama desert in Chile, all before I experienced PLR and all of which connect with the silver merchant called Hassan and his desert wanderings.
There’s definately something about the desert that I find very relaxing and spiritual, it’s like coming home to me.
I do have a lot of travel wanderlust and love going walkabouts and had lots of different adventures.
Fitting it all together
I haven’t gone out to prove any of this, after getting some information (for instance the confederate cap) I’ve researched that further and it’s matched.
I’ve researched through PLR connections with people I share my life with now and I’ve had other lives with those people, with a particular individual, quite a few times. Some have been positive and one in particular has helped me find out about a negative relationship I’ve been working on in this time, where we’ve crossed swords a few times before. This information has helped me a great deal, adding information, making a bit more sense of a difficult situation/relationship.
